Hey y'all! I'm taking it easy in AZ! My good friend Kate Niazi lives here. She is a bad ass on drums! I visited the Phoenix Art Museum. They had a special exhibit on some grafitti clothing. I wasn't too crazy about it.
Dress
Stephen Sprouse, 2000.
Cotton knit printed with Andy Warhol image of Jean Michel Basquiat.
Lent by Mr. Todd Allen Bundy.
I went to the Heard Museum which is only a few blocks away from the Phoenix Art Museum. I learn a lot about Native American culture there. They had a special exhibit that I really enjoyed called "Life in a Cold Place." Here is one of the many pieces of art i love from that show....
Autumnal Owl (1999)
Artist: Kenojuak Ashevak
Medium: Stonecut
Size: 61 x 77 cm
I also found out that my special "magic ring" that I always wear is a piece of work from the Zumi tribe. It was nice to find that out, since no one ever told me. I got it at a flea market in New Jersey.

I just got back to Philly from the Midwest with my friend Jenna J! I had a great time. We mostly spent time in Grand Rapids.
We also visted Chicago, and met up with one of my best friends Maeve Parker at Chicago's Art Institute. http://www.artic.edu/
Max Beckmann
German, 1884–1950
Self Portrait
This was my favorite piece in the museum. It inspires me to paint something like it.
Utagawa Hiroshige. Red Plum and Moon. Kate S. Buckingham Endowment.
There was also a special current exhihit of japanese woodblock prints. I love them.
We also visted Bloomington, Indiana!
Here is a video Jenna J taped of a Dretime performance at the Cinemat in Bloomington.
After playing at the Cinemat I went to the "House of Strange", for another round!
I think Ben Myers made this flyer. Thanks guys!

I went to PS1 today with Bob Judge. Here are some favourite pieces.
This work reminds me of my childhood friend "Big Bird".

I think that Kathe Burkart's series about Elizabeth Taylor was cool. I really like how each painting uses some untraditional material.

Lick Bush: from the Liz Taylor Series (Butterfield 8)
2001

I would have to say that my most favourite artist featured at PS1 today is Tony Fitzpatrick. I love his collage. I need to make some collage time. Here is a pic of one of the pieces I saw today that I found on his website.

On Saturday night I visited the Padlock Gallery to see the current show which features philly comic illustrators, like my friends Jesse Moynihan and Hans Rickheit. I really enjoyed the work displayed by all of the artists.
